Microblading
Chicago, IL

Enhance and Define Your Brows

Many people over pluck their brows at a young age and struggle to fill them in evenly every day of their lives—others never had lush brows to begin with! Waking up to gorgeous eyebrows every morning is possible with microblading, an advanced aesthetic procedure offered at our Lincoln Park office.

What is Microblading?

Microblading is the term for semi-permanent eyebrow tattoos which create a fuller look, eliminating the need to fill in your eyebrows. These semi-permanent tattoos can be customized to complement your beautiful features in a variety of styles. When administered by a highly trained professional, microbladed brows are very natural looking and typically quick to heal.

The Microblading Process

Step 1: Consultation

The first hour of your session will be dedicated to solidifying your brow goals. We will begin by consulting you and sketching potential shapes onto your face using a removable pencil. You will also be presented with pigment choices and recommendations.

Step 2: Numbing

Once your desired shape and tone has been established, your skin will be numbed with a topical cream to minimize any discomfort. The numbing cream may take up to 20 minutes to go into effect and may be followed by a liquid anesthetic. Though most patients find the process to be relatively painless, you may experience some discomfort.

Step 3: Pigment Application

The chosen shape for your new brows will then be etched into your numb skin with an extremely fine blade. The pigmentation will then be applied to the area, allowed to sit, and then wiped away. The process will be completed until the look is perfectly filled in.

Step 4: Aftercare

You can return to most activities immediately following your microblading procedure. Your brows may look a bit darker than you imagined, but through the healing process they will lighten to your desired tone. It takes one to two weeks for your brows to heal over, and approximately one month for the color to settle in.

Encourage Your Brows to Heal Correctly By:

  • Avoiding makeup, sweating excessively, and getting the area wet for the first 10 days
  • Do not itch, scratch, or tug at your microbladed brows
  • Apply any medicated creams or balms as directed

How Long Does Microblading Last?

Microblading is much less permanent than a traditional tattoo. The pigments are not deposited into the skin as deeply, enabling your brows to fade with time. Microblading can last anywhere from 1-3 years, depending on the individual. Factors that influence this range include the skin type (normal, oily, dry), age, and exposure to the sun.
